This video will show you how to install the Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator while using the Honeywell LYNX Touch L5210 wireless security system. To install depress the two tabs located directly above the touchscreen exposing the insides of the wireless security system. Now we need to make sure there is no power to the Honeywell L5210 wireless security system. To do this unplug your Honeywell LT-Cable or your power transformer wire from its designated terminals and unplug the alarm backup battery. Now that there is no power take your Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator write down the MAC and MAC CRC. These numbers are used to activate your Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator for professional alarm monitoring. You will notice on the Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator there is a black female port. Slide the black female port onto the Internet communication male port on the Honeywell L5210 wireless security system "located below the speaker". Insert either your Honeywell LT-Cable or your power transformer wire back into there terminals and plug your alarm backup battery back in. Now you can seal the panel up and call GEOARM Security to activate your alarm monitoring services.
Honeywell has outdone themselves with the L5100-WIFI internet communicator. They made it so simple that anyone can DIY install into their existing LYNX Touch wireless security system. The communicator comes out of the box ready to be installed all you have to do is make sure there is no power to the security system, depress the two tabs exposing the insides of the Honeywell L5210 wireless security system, locate the correct male end on the L5210 motherboard which is on directly below the speaker, slide the Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator port smoothly into the male end. Now that the Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator has been put into the correct location of the L5210 system make sure to jot down the MAC and MAC CRC off of the WIFI communicator located on the white sticker. After you have installed the Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator you can seal the L5210 system up and power back up.
By adding the Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator you unlock all of the available features with the Honeywell LYNX Touch L5210 wireless security system. This includes the activation of Honeywell's AlarmNet Total connect 2.0 interactive alarm monitoring services. Total connect 2.0 is a software that allows you to have control of your Honeywell LYNX Touch wireless security system. Features such as being able to arm/disarm, receive notifications on alarm system status, sensor status, bypass zones, control z-wave home automation devices and view Honeywell IP security cameras from your smart devices and computer remotely from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Note: By adding the Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator you can also view up to one camera on the actual Honeywell L5210 4.3 inch touchscreen display or 4 at a time on the Honeywell L7000 wireless security system.
The Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator also allows for dual path communications. This means that this internet communicator can be combined with selected Honeywell cellular communicators to allow for two modes of communicating back to GEOARM Security in the event one has no signal or fails. Honeywell's L5100-WIFI card can be paired with the AlarmNet GSMVLP5-4G, 4GL cellular communicator and the new 3GL cellular communicator. The primary mode of communication when using dual path alarm monitoring will always be your Honeywell L5100-WIFI internet communicator and will be backed up by the cellular communicator of your choice.
