This video will show you how to program a Honeywell 5828/5828V wireless keypad into the Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system.

To add the Honeywell 5828 or 5828V wireless keypad to your Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system you are going to take the Honeywell 5828 or 5828V remove it from its manufacturer box, slide the back mounting plate off, insert the batteries, hold down 1 and 3 until the keypad beeps, once you are in programming you will see a little flashing on the keypad, set the house id by hitting 1, 1, 3, star, 2, 2, star, 3, 4, star, 5, 2, star, 6, 0, star, star. Now we have programmed our Honeywell 5828/5828V and our house id to 13. Go to the Honeywell L5200 system go into programming by selecting security, more, tools, installer code "default is 4112", program, system type, rf house code, set to 13, done, save, back, yes, return to the home screen. Now your Honeywell 5828/5828V should be programmed into your Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system.

The Honeywell 5828 is nice addition to your home or business security system. You can place one of these keypads close to an alternate entry point so that you can arm/disarm the panel much quicker. Make sure to add the K0991 power adapter to the Honeywell 5828 without the adapter the wireless keypad will fall into whats known as sleep mode and you will have to awaken the keypad every time you want to use it which can be a bit frustrating. This is done so that the batteries inside don't need to be replaced so frequently.

The Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system has been discontinued by Honeywell and will no longer produce these alarm panels. The L5200 has been replaced by the Honeywell L5210 wireless security system the link to the new system has been placed above.
