This video shows you how to program a Honeywell 5816 resident monitor into a door using the Honeywell LYNX Touch L5210 wireless security system using a resident monitor setting. Remove the Honeywell 5816 from its packaging box, remove the front cover by depressing the tab on the contact, write down the 7 digit serial number, insert the battery, seal the cover back up.
To program: From the home screen select security, more, tools, installer code "default code is 4112", program, zones, highlight first available zone or add new, select serial number, input the serial number, loop number is 2, assign zone description, device type is door, response type is resident monitor, report yes, select chime type, supervision supervised, save, back, yes, exit to the home screen. That's how you program a Honeywell 5816 to a door using the resident monitor setting.
The resident monitor setting is used to monitor a resident in an area deemed to be dangerous by a caregiver. In this video we show you how to program a pool door to prevent any drowning incidents. The resident monitor setting does not send reports to the central alarm monitoring station or store the information in the event history. This setting is typically just used to alert the caregiver while they are home. When the resident monitor setting is activated it will announce two beeps followed by activity detected and the zone descriptor constantly for 15 seconds. The fault on the actual alarm system will clear itself after 15 seconds regardless of the zones state.
